INSTALLED GOODS LIFT IN PREWAR SHOP HOUSE’S NARROW WALKWAY

In a pre-war shophouse with limited space, and without compromising the old building structure, an vertical goods lift was planned for installation in a way that was both safe and did not obstruct passageways.

Over the past three decades, Suriya in Little India has established itself as a prominent Indian rice brand and spice manufacturer. To improve its distribution of food supplies to surrounding restaurants, Suriya required additional storage space on the second level. However, carrying goods up and down narrow and steep staircases of the prewar shop house was inefficient and risky.

While Suriya knew that installing a vertical goods lift would significantly improve productivity, they also wanted to ensure that their long-serving and ageing staff would be able to operate the lift with ease.

Another challenge was that no significant alterations could be made to the structure of this prewar heritage building when installing the goods lift.

Citi Ace's standalone modular vertical goods lift provided the perfect solution. It was easily installed within a walkway with full functionality. And operating it is as simple as pushing a trolley into the lifting cargo, closing the doors and activating the lift with the push of a button.
